Keyboard performance degrades as the Prophet-T8 keyboard's foam keystop pads become worn & compressed. To replace the keystop pads only requires removal of the control panel. Remove the keys in groups of about 10 at a time, then remove the old foam pads and replace them with new pads as seen in the picture above. It's also an appropriate time to remove the decades of dust accumulated under the keys on the pressure boards.
In June 2022 Martin writes us regarding his Prophet-T8 keyboard restoration that included replacing his T8's old compressed foam keystop pads.
"I have been meaning to write to you re: my T8 you worked on.
As soon as I got back to LA I have been so swamped, BUT,
I managed to set it up and plug it in and I have to tell you that I have no words for this.
It’s like a miracle, I’m so over the moon about what is happening. Everything is perfect. And the keys feel great and it plays amazing.
I wanna say “it's back” but honestly, I have never known it so perfect. What a treat!! Being able to really use both ends of it this is way beyond .
And it sounds better too?? Super clean.
I can’t Thank you enough for taking care of this one."
