Besides fixing broken keys, the technicians at Sequential Circuits routinely performed engineering prescribed functional tests on all Sequential Circuits instruments. A "Factory Functional" Test systematically checks every aspect of the instrument to assure that all electronics and features are operating reliably and within factory specifications prior to packaging any instrument for shipping. To assure operational performance and reliability, Wine Country ex-Sequential techs follow these same engineering prescribed procedures for any Sequential Circuits instrument sent for repair, restoration, or maintenance. Contact Wine Country to make your Prophet, or any Sequential Circuits instrument, operate at peak performance.

The power transformer is a heavy component. All Prophet-5 owners should confirm that their Prophet-5's power transformer is securely mounted to the bottom panel with 2 screws & nuts. A loose transformer can damage not only the transformer, but other components are well.

August 18, 2021 email from Ron of LA, new owner of Sixtrak #2355..
Just wanted to send a quick thank you for your help with the Six Trak purchase and the quick shipping. Putting it through the paces for the past few days has been a sheer joy. I am absolutely in love with it - from the design to the function to the sound, it is such a wonderful instrument. And I feel so fortunate to have one that you've restored. It is a magic machine!
Thanks again,
Ron C.
January 4, 2020 email from Bob in Arizona, owner of Rev2 Prophet-5 #1016..
"Thanks for fixing my Prophet 5. You guys definitely know what you're doing! Amazing. The machine plays as well as it ever did, and playing it is like meeting an old friend again since it's been unplayable for 25 years. Plus you restored the factory settings that I never experienced as the second owner. Now its time to get reacquainted and figure out how to program it again. A fun problem, but I'm sure I have the original owners manual lying around.
Happy New Year from a happy customer!
Bob"
July 31, 2017 email from Roberto in Switzerland, new owner of Prophet 600 sn#4076..

July 17, 2017 email from David in Arizona, the new owner of Prophet-5 sn#1406..
"I received my Prophet on Friday and spent hours with it over the weekend. I must say it is even better in person than I thought it would be. Such a beautiful instrument, even with the slight cosmetic flaws on my unit. I really love it. After wanting one for 30 years, it’s just amazing and to finally have one. It warmed up quickly and stayed perfectly in tune, no issues at all. I read the very well written manual from cover to cover and learned a lot reading about each patch. I wish modern synth manuals were that well written."

Rev 2 vs. Rev3 -- Why does a Rev 3 exist? The Rev 3 Prophet-5 was developed by Sequential Circuits as a direct result of the documented unreliability of the Rev 2 Prophet-5.
2009 email from Pierre-Luc of Switzerland regarding his recently purchased Prophet-5 Rev3:
"My rev 2 sn. 437 went several times to repair. It had a big sound but I sold it when it was working. My rev 3 is much more reliable and I like the sound."
2007 email from Daniel regarding his Rev2 Prophet-5 sn 1114 after a series of unsuccessful repairs elsewhere:
"I'm just disappointed because the Prophet was perfectly (at least to my ears) in tune before the voice went out and now it's unusable in poly mode. I'm debating between a full restore, or selling it. Tough decisions."

new Wine Country Prophet 600 owner with A440 tuning & pitch wheel questions

EDIT: Found the problem. The pitch wheel isn't properly centered. I turned the prophet on and off and I'm hitting middle A now. NOw the problem is, if I use the pitch wheel and bring it back to the center, the pitch will be flat. I have to bring up the wheel a touch to get it back in pitch.
How hard is this to fix?
Btw, the pitch wheel doesn't have any spring action. Is it supposed to be this way?
==========>
micahjonhughes and Maschinengeist were riight. The pitch wheel needed to be recenter using the Record + 3 parameter.
Just so you guys know, I actually received an email and phone call from David at Wine Country Sequential on Saturday, which is awesome considering they aren't open on Saturdays.
So overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend Wine Country Sequential for anybody looking for a Sequential synth in great condition.
One question though, is there any way to detect which chips are about to fail? I'd like to maybe order some spare voice or filter chips.

Just for the record - P600's pitch wheel isn't spring-centered.
